Open Arms Therapy (OAT) is a non-profit, equine therapeutic riding center in Dalhart, Texas. OAT's mission is to serve the disabled in our community by providing an opportunity to improve physical, psychological, social, and cognitive well-being through safe equine assisted activities. Established in 2008, OAT is located in the farming and ranching community of Dalhart. Our organization will rely strongly on the volunteer and financial support of the local community, as well as financial support we hope to gain outside the community through corporate, state, and national organizations. OAT is working swiftly to become a NARHA accredited center. The status of this accreditation can be verified by contacting us at any time. We are accepting participants of any age. Our program is suited for special needs individuals, such as those with autism, MS, Down syndrome, CP, mental, emotional, learning, or physical disabilities, hearing/visual impairments, and abuse victims.
