The focus is on proper horsemanship. The goal of every horseperson is to ride with seemingly invisible cues.
Whether you have lots of experience or none at all, we have a course to suit your needs and help you advance your equine knowledge. Most of our courses are all home-study or home-school friendly. There are some online courses in Equine Science for students wishing to earn an Associate Degree in Equine Science or for students wishing to learn about horses from the comfort of their home. Some of these classes are still being developed; however, the Academy wishes to encourage students to start their learning as soon as possible. In addition, the special Horsemastership curricula are designed for children 7 years old and up who wish to learn about horses.
In all of our classes, registered students have the opportunity to converse with their instructor(s) and seek help via online and email. Courses are an academic and affordable opportunity for horse enthusiasts.

Lessons:
At Living Sky Stables, we teach all aspects of horsemanship in a safe but fun way. All lessons are in English riding, and riders must wear an approved riding helmet and sensible footwear. We have helmets you can borrow, but we recommend you buy your own if you plan on regular lessons. Gloves are also a good idea, as they prevent sore hands.
Boarding:
Full Board - We have stables in our barn and use good quality straw for bedding. Stables are cleaned properly every day. We turn out in the morning and bring them in at evening. We turn out every day during the winter. During summer hours, we turn out at night and bring in the morning, so the horses can escape the sun and flies.
Pasture Board - There is access to a large shelter and clean, fresh water is always available. In the winter they are fed alfalfa / brome mix hay and fed grain if required. If they are at the bottom of the pecking order, we will catch and take them into the barn during feeding times.

Redneck Ranch & Farrier Services

At Redneck Ranch, we only take on 4 outside horses a month for training. Us only taking this limited number of horses means your horse gets the attention it needs. When your horse leaves here, it should be able to go on to any discipline that you choose - with softness and confidence. When starting a colt or working with an older horse, we don't just ride in an arena. Our facilities include an outdoor arena and round pen. We trailer out to indoor arenas and local gymkhana clubs. We will also take them on trail rides through the Qu'Appelle Valley. All of our horses are started in the round pen and ridden in a halter the first couple of times. If needed, we will also ground drive them and, in the near future, will be breaking horses to harness. We both believe that the only way to get good quiet horses is to ride them and expose them to as much as possible, no matter what discipline you choose to do.

I am a graduate student doing a Masters of Science in Psychology. Equine Facilitated Mental Health has been an up and coming profession within the last ten years. Unfortunately, there are many New Age organizations that have entered the field. I have set up a training program at an annual family camp that I run.
