Description: I am looking for another woman to rent a room in a three bedroom house located on 1 acre of property in Rosamond who enjoys the company of animals. You can bring your horse(s) and dog(s) as long as they are friendly, well behaved, trained, and especially potty trained. Your animals must be current on vaccines and you must show proof of this. There is no size restriction on the animals you bring since mine are large. I might consider a single parent that is totally cool with their child being around dogs and horses without restrictions, all of my animals are accustom to children and their quick movements. This situation would also be ideal for those working on EAFB. I will consider a male roommate with a female reference or if you have a girlfriend. A couple may be okay if you both work. Please be employed or just not someone who sits around the house all day, love animals, non-smoker, employed, and with references.
The living situation would comprise of me, 35 years young, active, and employed; my boyfriend, 40s, work-a-holic, and gone most of the time; 2 large dogs; 2 horses; and a few other smaller pets and livestock. The house is kept clean and clutter free; I vacuum daily and do the dishes after each meal. I am a quiet person that enjoys a quiet environment free of loud music (unless there is a cause for calibration), without a lot of visitors (a boyfriend or girlfriend is fine, but please, not too many other people), without drama, and with clean roommates. You must be drug free at all times to live here and anyone who visits here must also be drug free or the dogs will attack you, very important... Alcohol is fine and it is in the refrigerator, sorry AA members.
Horses- I have a 5 year old, 17-hand, gelding that is a thoroughbred/appendix quarter horse cross and a 13 year old, 15-hand, mare that is an appendix quarter horse. I scoop two to three times daily and feed two to three times daily depending on temperature and weather. If you want to bring your horse or horses this is a paddock situation and your horse must be easy going and used to being with other horses. The other option is to bring your own fencing materials and build a stall or stalls. There is no round pen, arena, or wash rack; my horses are fine without those amenities, but if you would like to bring a round pen and/or wash rack you may.
Expectations include cleaning up after your horse no matter where the manure is on the property at least once daily, feeding your horse twice daily, provide your own hay or you can go in on hay with me if you use the same, and be responsible with your horse. Additionally, your horse must be de-wormed on the standard schedule, vaccinated, farriered when needed, and be totally good with dogs, adults, and children. I have nephews that come to visit.
