Equine Therapy Associates is a Premier Accredited Operating Center of North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) that is embued with the Christian spirit and designed to help the family develop the entire child - mind, body and spirit. Christian principles underly all that we do, and we actively reach out to parents of all faiths to place their children in this gentle, supportive educational environment, where their children will shine! Up to 40% of our riders receive need-based scholarships, all of our volunteers are vetted for our clients' safety, and we are fully ensured with certified NARHA instructors. River Valley Ranch offers English and western riding lessons in a private or group setting. Our instructors are CHA certified. We have both outdoor and indoor arenas with miles of trails. We also offer a recreational therapeutic riding program.

Cedar Farm is situated on over 34 acres in Rising Sun, MD. We have 2 barns, a lighted outdoor sand arena (100' x 200'), 10 paddocks, wooded trails, and plenty of open space. We are about 8 miles away from Fair Hill. We are nestled back away from the road, where it is very quiet and there is always a breeze. We strive to make sure that you and your horse will feel right at home!

Our Mission: To create a sanctuary for people and horses. A place for everyone of all ages, able-bodied and disabled (including autism, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities) to have the opportunity to enjoy horses and all they have to offer, through individualized programs.

Weekday, evening, and weekend sessions. Off-site lessons available – prices may vary. All students start in Private Sessions for safety reasons. We use well-trained and well behaved school horses, or students may bring their own. Please see our website for rates.

Building well rounded equestrians – teaching, not only horseback riding but also equine care, first aide, compassion, and teamwork.
