Free Rein Riding Academy is a riding program catered to individual students. Located at a small, relaxed family farm in Goodlettsville, our goal is to teach quality, fun lessons no matter what your goals are. Students are accepted from ages five and up, beginner to advanced. Students will have an opportunity to participate in local shows, and we also have a calendar of other fun events throughout the year. Camps are held over all Sumner County School breaks. While the focus is on the hunter/jumper discipline, ALL basic horsemanship is taught, with an emphasis on safety first. Visit our website for more information!

The trainer Larry Patton specializes in "problem" horses. He has a gentle touch and believes in bringing horses along slowly. He would rather take his time and make sure the horse is confident and comfortable than push them and end up with problems to fix later. He excels in finding the right horse for the each rider, the right rider for each horse, and the right "job" for each horse. While primarily a Tennessee Walking Horse trainer, Larry has experience training and showing in multiple breeds and disciplines. The barn participates in a variety of activities including but not limited to: trail rides, saddle club shows, open shows, breed shows, and clinics. We are welcoming new people to our barn for 2012 and look forward to meeting you soon!
