My SHINE Program is a non-profit therapeutic horseback riding program for individuals of all ages with special needs located at Sweet Hills Riding Center in Melville, NY. We have two NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) certified instructors and others in the process of becoming certified. They have many years of experience as trainers.

Our mission is to foster a relationship between individuals with special needs and horses through activities involving horses in a safe and nurturing environment. Our objectives include improving the participants self confidence, physical strength, coordination, and balance and increasing vocalization.

Group or private lessons consist of teaching horsemanship skills, games, mini-trail rides through West Hills Park, and most importantly, having fun. Come experience the magic between horse and rider.

Thistle Hill Farm is located in Cherry Valley, NY, on our beautiful 98 acre farm. We offer both dressage lessons and eventing lessons geared towards all levels of riders and also serve as a boarding stable to riders of all disciplines. We own several highly skilled lesson horses, including a Grand Prix master. As a farm, we often bring in other instructors, including Eric Horgan and Jeffery Lindberg, enabling our students to have access to a variety of different learning experiences. We also competitively show in both dressage and eventing from May to October at local schooling shows and higher-level rated shows. Our facilities boast a 120' x 66' well-lit indoor riding arena and 40 acres of well-maintained pasture along with many miles of dirt roads and groomed trails. Our property encompasses three barns, all well ventilated and complete with rubber-matted stalls. We also offer therapeutic riding in the summer and a sport horse rehabilitation program offering post trauma/injury care.

Flying Manes Therapeutic Riding is a North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NAHRA) member center that offers therapeutic horseback riding lessons and activities aimed at teaching the foundations of equine behavior and equine care.

Flying Manes Therapeutic Riding is committed to providing the therapeutic benefits of horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities to individuals faced with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.

Equine assisted activities and therapies are centered on the interaction between horse and human and use the tolerance and power of the horse to motivate participants to develop their full potential.

Led by a NARHA-certified instructor and supported by dedicated volunteers, our program activities are aimed at teaching participants horsemanship skills and encouraging them to accomplish their physical, emotional, and social goals.
