Spirit's Promise Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation is a non-profit, multi-faceted program encompassing the rescue of abused, neglected, or unwanted horses. Promise of a New Spirit is our rehabilitation and healing program. We have served the needs of our community in Riverhead, New York since 2012. We are also named on the American Cancer Society's web site as a "Resource" for our therapy programs.

In addition to our equine ranch, we have recently built a state-of-the-art venue, "The Barn," where we hold events to support the upkeep and care of the horses. Our events have included activities on the ranch, where party-goers participate in hands-on care and interaction with the horses, as well as concerts and events in The Barn. We recently held a musical event with a jazz group from New Orleans, which was very well received. All proceeds from these events go to the care of the horses.

We are a dedicated to helping and saving the lives of high risk horses off of slaughter trucks.

Too many horses are being crammed into trucks at sales all over the country. They are then driven out of the US for slaughter for human consumption overseas. Our drive is to save as many lives as possible. With some, we can talk the owners into turning them over. Others, we have to pay cash to literally buy them back off the slaughter trucks. We are also involved with local police departments to help save starved and un-cared for horses. We may be a small group, but every life counts. For more information, please call or text (936) 615-9449 or email sydneynelson8014@gmail.com

Our boarding and lesson revenues support the care of the retired horses. We pair these experienced older horses with older, beginner, or timid riders so they can learn to ride and care for horses in a safe, calm, and peaceful environment. Clean, safe, and fun. Indoor and outdoor arenas.

The USPCA is a non-profit organization providing safe shelter and veterinary and behavior care for seized, abused, neglected, and abandoned animals; progressing from rehabilitation of these animals to permanent rehoming services.

We partner with law enforcement agencies, the Unwanted Horse Coalition, foster homes, and other humane agencies to give a voice to animals that would otherwise have none.

Our goal is to reduce cruel and inhumane treatment to animals, provide them a second chance at life, and rehome these animals within the bounds of law.
